Hello, I am Claypipe, a recently retired optical engineer. I have been learning watchmaking one evening a week at the Epping Forest Horology centre for quite some years.  This was watch repair and learning how to make small components on the watchmaking lathe etc.  I have made two watch cases and have taught myself to photo-etch and print watch dials.  I am trying to make a pocket watch movement now.  I have an awful lot of learning and practice to do!!  Best wishes to you all.

Very kind of you Claypipe, good to have you here, sounds very much like you have some interesting skill and knowledge. I'm sure we all look forward to hearing about your projects.
