So my wife bought me a stainless band Luminox as a wedding gift.  A few years ago I see the second hand had fallen off.  So I went to a local jeweler and was quoted $500 to fix it because it was radioactive and they needed a special license to even open the back of the watch for a battery change.

I contacted Luminox (what a joke) and was told ~$300 to get the second hand back on but would cost more if more work was needed. Oh, 6-8 weeks before they would look at it and ship to Switzerland.

Contacted a watchmaker in downtown Chicago, tells me $150 but guaranteed that more was wrong than just the second hand.  Also, that the movement was rare and expensive figured $300 for the total job.

Well, tonight I figured was the night. Our 13 year anniversary is next week and I picked up a Ronda 715LI High Cannon Pinon for $30 last year from Ofrei.  The reason it took me so long?  I was worried about damaging one of the Tritium gas capsules. Total time= 15 minutes :thumbsu:

Almost forgot, no picture or it didn't happen.

Well done Dan, I hope you treated yourself to a well earned beer afterwards? :)

PS Nice watch!

No, have none. Brewing today a Belgium Tripel and a Belgium Wit while the wifey is working. Just not looking forward to 96 degrees Fahrenheit today- I brew outside [emoji30]
