Hi,  I am 62y/o.  I own about 30 watches mostly Seiko, I love watches and decided it was time to learn to explore, service and repair watches.  So far I have successfully disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and regulated a 6309A and a 7S26 (I confess my first 6309A didn't survive and the missing screws went to a parallel universe - it is now parts. Having fun but realise there is SO much to learn. How hard can it be?

Howdy Folks.  I'm just a person that has been bitten by the watch collecting bug... nothing too extreme, and definitely not the high-end: A few Seiko's, a couple of Grand Seiko, a couple of Hamilton, a few Longines, a couple of JeanRichard, a GP Gyromatic HF and a Timex Marlin Snoopy watch 🙂 ...  I don't have any real knowledge or desire to work on movements ... but I am fascinated, often spending a hour or two watching watch repair videos on YouTube.    I'm joining this blog because I read a very nice posting by one of the members about repairing a JeanRichard JR1000 movement.   I have two watches with the base JR1000 movement, and they are among my favorites, the 1681 "Black Night in the City" and Aquascope Ref. 60140.

But Alas, the JeanRichard brand was killed off a few years ago by Sowind... and these movements have been stranded.  So I worry if something were to go wrong with my favorite watches what I would do.  Ergo, join a forum of watch repair experts that can provide some advice.  And I do find it all very interesting.  So very happy to be here and looking forward to learning from you all.
