Hello,

so I‘m working on this Rolex 3235. It has a new wheel train compared to the 3135, minute wheel (blue) and fourth wheel (green) both in the centre.

So the upper bearing for the fourth wheel is a jewel in the minute wheel.

And this one woobles. I think it is not press fitted but just put in and secured by caulking (there are very tiny dents on the radius).

So how can I fix this? Just use a conic punch in the staking set and hit it with a small hammer very carefully? Do I have to hold the jewel somehow during this process to ensure it is positioned absolutely flat? Or is there a better method?

A spare part is availiable but expensive. So I would like to try a repair first. If I fail, I still can buy the spare.

Sorry for being off topic: Why do you think the central position of the second and fourth wheel is a new design? The jewel bearing of the fourth wheel inside the second wheel is identical with the cal. 3135 imho.

I’m wondering what you ended up doing here? That’s an interesting layout, having a jewel inside the hollow pinion. My first thought was to make sure it is actually the jewel moving to create the wobble. It would have to be, if not a damaged jewel hole.
