I had my Porsche Design P6612 titaniumn (Eterna movement I believe) completely overhauled and less than a year after, one of the button pushers fell out and got lost. How difficult is it to replace it myself (if i buy a new one)? Is it a problem to make one myself and put it in? What is involved with installing a new pusher on one of these watches?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Welcome to the forum ,enjoy. Without knowing for certain what the movement caliber it is not possible to say if the parts required are available. It is possible to make pusher stems but you will need a lathe and preferably a watchmakers lathe.

Pushers are case specific items and therefore exist in thousends of variations. You should find a genuine spare part which is difficult.

The process of replacing the pusher is not to difficult.

Thank you welcome and reply!

I see watch is a P6612.11/2 166.3854. There is 2894-2 on the movement - which would mean it is an ETA 2894-2 movement? It was advertised to have an Eterna movement and I never checked. I see checking the web, the 2894-2 was pretty standard on the P6612.11/2

Thank you LittleWatchShop - I saw on Ebay and Chrono24. Whaqt is the process to put it in?

I have never worked on that watch, so anything I would say would be a guess.  If the watch were in my care, I would remove the back and see how the other pusher is installed.

Some watches have a C clip that holds the pusher in place.  If that is the case, the clip is loose inside the watch...possibly damaging the movement.  However, the images on ebay do not indicate such a design.

You will just have to open it and explore.  Looks like an expensive watch, so be very careful.  Alternatively, order the pusher and take the watch to a watchmaker.

Here is @jdrichardinstalling a pusher of the clip style.

I see several on ebay that might work

Hi LittleWatchShop, could you send me a message with links to these? I have the same watch and need to find a replacement pusher. Also, could you recommend replacement crowns if possible? They don't have to be Porsche Design, anything generic that would match is perfectly fine. Thank you!

(p.s. I'm new so hopefully I'm not breaking etiquette)

Thank you LittleWatchShop - I think the post and internal assembly is still attached securely and that the pusher assembly fell apart - when the button fell off, I must have noticed soon after because the spring was still sitting there. I still have the spring. There is a little post sticking out. If I push the pin, the pusher still functions I see.

Hence I was considering making a new button. I have some white gold tube that looks approximately the same size (or perhaps I can modify some bronze tube stock I have) and sheet stock to make a new button.

I am currently in Vietnam and they don't allow importing used watches or used watch parts - all of the pushers I see for sale are used. The part would get flagged at the border and I would never receive it if the customs clearing documents indicated a used watch part. If the vendor would mark the part as new, I could receive it.

Noticing the shody workmanship and lying when getting batteries replaced the few times I did, I wouldn't have any watch repairs made here.

The plastic dome fell off the crown, but I could remove the dome from the old scrown I still have from the last rebuild and attach it.

Hello Squarecoats. I found a bunch of crowns and pushers on Chrono24 website and ebay - prices don't differ much, but Chrono24 has bigger selection of P6612 materials and finishes.

    • Thanks Mark, but can we still discuss the other important matter please and not be distracted from it. Thank you.
    • You're probably not going to see a dramatic change but you should probably figure out what the lift angle is as it probably is not 52°
    • In tandem with my last post regarding the removal of Google Adsense on this website - I have also decided to fully self fund this site as a gift to the watch repair community of which I’ve been a member of, and have benefited from since being extremely lucky to gain an apprenticeship back in the late 80s.    Well, that means that I have also closed down my Patreon account - or, to be clear, stopped all future transactions on my Patreon account and this is with immediate and permanent effect.    not to mention, but I will, I really really do appreciate the contribution all my patreon and PayPal supporters have provided over the years, you guys have been absolutely awesome and helped to keep this forum alive and available for those who might not be able to afford the payments.    again, from the bottom of my heart thank you.
    • My pleasure. I would rather pay more than have those annoying ads ruin this site. They were a terrible idea and something I never even saw much, but I was on my iPad yesterday testing a security update for the forum software and it was impossible. I decided then - they had to go!!! Also, co-incided with this, for those who are paying for pattern in order to help fund this site - I’ve just disabled patreon. Future monthly payments will not be taken.  PayPal is a little more complicated. I will try to work out how to cancel the few subscriptions but if you are a PayPal donator then please feel free to cancel the monthly sub.  I will, however thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping to contribute to this site financially - it means a lot. But going forward, I’m funding it personally from my pocket and that’s the end of it 😄
    • Thank you Mark it definitely makes the site looked much nicer. Although I didn't mind the ads as long as it helped to pay for the messageboard but sometimes when you had the feeling that there were more ads than message board yes it was a little annoying. Thank you
