Hi All

I stripped and reassembled a Poljot 2409 all without incident until I tried installing the balance (oh I did suffer with rewinding the mainspring which I posted on here - but.. no one seems to care... sniff sniff)... Anyway, the balance was proving to be problematic and wouldn't sit straight and would rotate freely - it was perplexing me, until just now when I flipped the movement and noticed that the lower balance shock setting had fallen out during ultrasonic cleaning..  I relocated the cap jewel and chaton, and only half a shock spring.  Kind makes sense because one half of the spring was out before cleaning.  Now I know I should have either removed or attempted to get it back in before cleaning.

So I will need a shock spring or set which is referred to as a Kirowskie-Poljot shock setting.  Any help in locating - short of buying a donor movement would be of help 🙂

Hey @Jonno65

I'm not sure if shipping will be an issue when you're in Australia, but being based in Europe I can find plenty of entire Poljot 2409 movements on eBay. Costing only 7-20 USD + shipping.  Most of them ship from Eastern Europe and Ukraine. I can see from the pictures that they have the type of shock spring that you need.

I think we're not supposed to post links here, or is it ok? If ok, I can paste a few.

Thanks Knebo

I have (and others) have been happily posting links uninhibited!I would be interested to see them.

As per ususal, I post something with a cry for help only to find something straight after!  I did buy another Poljot 2409 watch and I also found a seller on ebay selling heaps of different 2409 parts including the shock springs... in tray B1
