Love it or hate it, the term 'Mumbai Special' is used to describe watches from that part of the world that have been Frankensteined together. But I am also seeing eBay flag sellers from Japan and Ukraine and several other locations, not just India. Is there such a thing now as a 'Tokyo Special'? Should I be using extra caution when buying from Japan and Ukraine the same way as I would from India? Just after experience (good or bad) from people who have purchased from there locations.

I know I am painting with a broad brush here and I am sure there are reputable sellers from India etc., but I have to admit that a lot of them look way too good/new to be true, and l have to admit that l did buy a few when starting out, and whilst good to practice on, l can now spot a mile away that they are far from original parts. I was just wondering if the same is true for the watches from Japan and Ukraine and elsewhere?
