Has anyone else had issues with cousins uk trying to rip them off? They required a transfer and now they're saying it was a completely different number than I sent and trying to get me to send them more. Not happening! This might put me off of watchmaking completely. There might be a bunch of tools on Craigslist soon.

Same here, only had good experiences with Cousins. They are a reputable company. Why would they be trying to rip you off, and guarantee that you never used them again?

Looks like it might be my American ignorance showing. Lol. The bank sent the money in euros and the total was in pounds. Why they sent it wrong is beyond me. I gave the bank the original email and it shows a cursive L next to the amount. That's not euros?

£ is Pounds, € is Euros. I'd chalk it up to the bank's person not knowing what foreign currency symbols mean. I wouldn't blame it on Cousins. Personally I pay with a credit card that does the £ to $ conversion for me.

Eccentric59. I usually pay with my card. I don't know why they forced me to pay this way this time? That is what will make me never use them again. It cost me $50 just to do the bank transfer. Not again. I'll pay the extra for a us supplier or ebay.

How did Cousins force you not to use a credit card?   As far as I can see, it's the only way to pay.

I only pay by credit card, as it gives you full protection over the transaction, and does currency conversions.

After I made the order they sent me an email that said I needed to pay with a bank transfer. Gave me all the info for their bank. They sent me the reply of not being enough on the cousins web site so it's not coming from some scammers. I figure it's because it was for a set of mainspring winders. A bit more expensive than oil and other supplies. That's what I've purchased from them until now. 551 pounds. I assume over 500 they do this to make sure they get their payment?

That’s the reason. More expensive items shipped to US they do require a bank transfer. I had the backorder for a staking set Cousins didn’t have in my ‘saved for later’ box- it warned the item would be by bank transfer only…

…it does sound like it was an error from your bank- somebody didn’t read or misread the symbol…
