Hi guys,

I’m new to the forum so I guess best thing would be to briefly introduce myself.

I’m passionate about 1950’s mechanical watches but don’t know a lot about them other than the design.

I had them periodically serviced by an Italian watch repairer but since Brexit I’m a bit in despair.

I’ve got an 852 calibre 1953 automatic IWC which is suddenly losing almost 40 seconds a day and I’m inclined to think it might need a new mainspring.

I’m based in Yorkshire and was wondering if you could be so kind to suggest me a watch repairer who could inspect the watch?

it’s not worth more than £1000 so I’m ideally looking for an independent who knows what is doing but won’t charge me an arm and a leg.

Thanks for your interest,

Tullio
