Merry Christmas all.  One of the brilliant things about this site is not only the great help and advice but it is truly global.  All colours, creeds, beliefs etc are represented and that's great.  So again Merry Christmas all irrespective of your beliefs or lack of .

I love Christmas time, although there's not an iota of religiousness or spiritualism in me.  Here's hoping that 2024 brings peace, love, understanding and some optimism for the future to us all.

I'm with you oldhippy, not a fan of xmas (which started as the winter solstice, before it was hijacked by the religious lot). But at least the days are getting longer. More daylight to enjoy the wind and rain

 Christ teaches us humanity, I have always enjoyed celebrating Christmas along with my Christian friends, have many jeweish friends too.

 How Saadi defines humanity is in full agreement with teachings of Christ.

Not a big fan of it either, loved it when my kids where little. Are we all humbugs ? Just another name for grumpy old men that sit in room by themselves surrounded by tools they barely use . Hi @tomh207 I think it’s the fact that we old men se through the charade and false bon-homme which seems to abound at this time of year   Be good and kind  ALL year not just for Christmas

Glad to see some got watchmaking related gifts.  I got a watch storage box.  Much nicer than just tossing them all in a drawer.  I also got an Amazon gift card, which I will apply to maybe a Geiger counter, to check for radium, and a copy of Henry Fried's The Watch Repairer's Manual.
