Evening

This one I currently feel is a little out of my league. Being a fusee that is.

It came to me in a job lot with a couple of alarm clocks and is '404' club qualifier. That aside, as a long term project (once I've the confidence) I'd like to understand more about fusee movements and importantly the history of this one and the age. Which as a guess has got to be a least 120 years old.

I'm pretty sure it's not the original case as you can see from the photos where someone has excavated the case to solder a hinge in for the movement. Also the numbers don't match up.

The movement is signed "Cha Bennet" Regent St, London. I've only managed to find reference to a Sir John Bennett, I'm sure this is not one of his as the spelling of Bennet/Bennett differs. Unless someone knows differently?

Is there anyone out there who's a pocket watch expert or could point me in the right direction of reading material on the subject it would be much appreciated.
