citizen c500 aqualand screws and clutch wheel

hello every one,

I hope you are all well. it has been a while and I think i have bitten off more than I can chew with this one. I has been flooded in salt water and then placed in a drawer for about 10 years. I have managed to clean many parts and have sourced a new circuit board and coil.

I am after the long screws that holds the metal clip adjacent the battery. I am also in need of a clutch wheel. It was right there on my bench until it wasn't!

The dial number is C500-089640 KA and the case CN-4S.

I would appreciate any suggestions please. 

P.S. Also I have no idea on how to remove the dive sensor to replace.

UPDATE:

h guys, Keith from AWCS was able to source me a clutch wheel.

I now am in need of the three screws pictured below. 

Any help locating them will be really appreciated.

Hello guys, i am at a bit of a loss to know where i might find the screws pictured. I understand from Citizen that they are now discontinued. I have considered buying a small lathe to try to make some but as a novice I am uncertain what to even look for.

Could someone please tell me if I have not followed protocol correctly as I haven't received a single response. The last couple of years has been a bit tough due to cancer and the last 2 weeks with COVID.

Please let me know correct steps for posting so I might learn for future reference.

Hi Rob, I don't think you are doing anything wrongly. It's probably none of us are familiar with the part that you are showing.

How about giving more background information like a photo of the watch, the watch with the backcover off showing the movement and a close up of the area where the screw comes from.

Hopefully one of us will be able to be of assistance.

Thank you, Hector, I'm glad I am on the right path at least. The screws hold the metal frame and battery cover on the works side of the watch. Sadly, the heads have rusted away. As per you suggestion i have added a few more pics.

Oh I get it now. The original photo is that of a screw with half its head broken off.

You probably need to search for a suitable one from screw assortments like this:-

Just to set your expectations straight, unless you are incredibly lucky, don't expect to find the screw you need in your very first lot of assortments. Sometimes you have to get hundreds of screws before you find the right one. And get assortments from different sources, such as eBay, AliExpress, etc...

I have ordered the one pictured and with a bit of luck one of them will work.

I have found a couple of parts watches, but they are asking crazy prices. I thought i could possibly find someone locally that might make a couple, but I think most guys around here tend to just replace batteries now. 

Anyway, wish me luck with the cousin's lot.

one of the problems with a watch like this is parts as you can see from the image below the most part parts are not available this watch is supposed to go to the factory for servicing. So the link for those not familiar with what kinda watch were looking at. Notice a reference is all the way back to 85 and sometime way back then I worked in a shop authorized to work on C's and watches they handled citizen warranty repair's. But if one of these came in we wouldn't touch the thing because as a dive watch and they didn't want take the liability of if something happened to the diver basically anything related to this it went back to the factory

I think that is where the problem started for this watch. It was taken for a battery replacement by the diver (owner) and the technician didn't tighten the crown and the then owner didn't check (assuming done by the battery replacer) and of course the salt water flooded in. It came to me as a parts watch.

As part of my watch repair journey, I am excited to see if I can at least get the analogue time function to work again. It would need a factory service if it were to ever go beneath the waves again, as would any dive watch purchased from ebay or etsy etc.

I have a beloved C500-E80338 that’s travelled the world with me and can’t find someone to replace battery now as citizen won’t service and don’t supply parts anymore as Jon notes. Be happy if just chronograph worked and was water proof as had it so long. So wonder if you or anyone know where I could send mine (UK based). Ta!

Do you intend on diving with it?

If not then I'd expect any half decent watch repairer to be able to replace the battery and back gasket if necessary.
