Spell check missing.

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a new computer and installed all my relevent programs. Included my most improtant one. Watch Repair Talk. Everythig works well, except that I can no longer spell check. Has it been removed or is it just me? If it is just me, can anyone assist in information as how to get it back please. It's a pain spending so much time to see if Iv'e got everthing right.

Thank you

What is the computer you now have. Did you build it.

Had it made by a local computer shop.

Desktop only.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz   3.19 GHz. 16gb memory. 1tb SSd. 4gb Video card. £320

I wanted it to run Davinci Resolve, which it does easily. I had this video editor programme 5 years ago but my replacement PC did not have a video card. Had to wait until now.

I have 5tb of storage ready now.

I love it when Microsoft moves settings and changes default values without ever telling anyone. 😞

Click on the windows menu (start menu) and go to settings, or simply press image.png.6c8e8bc7cb2c36c61ff500536511abdb.png

The  go to time & language>typing and make sure highlight misspelled words and auto correct is enabled.

What do you want Davinci Resolve for?

Video editing. I know I could do it with another. But Davinci Resolve is free and I had paid for a Udemy course. Plus. My computer blew itself to pieces when I spilled coffee on it when I sneezed. Coffee in Desktop unit. Knacked motherboard and most internals. Phtttp! My bride took pity on me. I had 14 month savings, plus a birthday present of some cash. I'm only 76 once.

1/2 of Currys price

Nicknamed the "Bill Knows Best" syndrome, as it started when Bill Gates was in charge.

(You do it the Microsoft way, or not at all, if reliant on their tools).

I'm still running Windows 7 64bit. I hate windows 10 it's a hog.

I hope you're not suggesting Windows 7 is old? The last time I upgraded my computer by building a new one I put in Windows 7 64 bit and hopefully the computer will last forever because I really don't want to upgrade the computer ever again. When you're young it's fun building computers every couple years upgrading Windows and at some point time you're tired of Windows upgrades. so this computer is running Windows 7 64 bit. All the other miscellaneous computers running Windows 8.1. Then unfortunately I ran into an application absolutely had to have either 10 or 11 so for that I purchased a laptop off of eBay there quite inexpensive just to have Windows 10. So this way the laptop can be out of sight and I don't have to deal with Windows 10 as I'm not a big fan and don't even get me started on Windows 11 which I don't think would run on any of the machines I have any way.
