No- no c'mon. Who is it that said they never heard of it- a service shop or someone from a professional organization? Movements are unique but they aren't like servicing exotic cars or flying type in a specific aircraft. I've serviced three Crickets w/120 movements with my lack of professional accreditation. ust look for a shop with accredited service people..

@rehajm ☝️

I think the topic creator contacted the Liverpool contact listed on the BHI list. And they never heard of a Cricket..

I agree with you that a good watchmaker can service any watch. But a professional watchmaker that never heard of a Vulcain Cricket... to me, I wouldn't trust them 😉

    • Happy Sunday people.  This one has me stumped. The threaded piece has a dimple in the end.
    • I did the math meanwhile: @Jon, I have to apologize for my harsh response! Yes, your math does not correctly convert time to angle of a part of a swing. But funny enough neglected facts compensate each other here and the result is in the ballpark, sufficient precise to work with (in this limited  range around middle position). @Zendoc I have no reliable and easy method in which direction to turn the collet. If a coarse error, I observe the impulse jewel as described and turn the collet the same direction the jewel is off the center.  With small errors I am wrong every 2nd case ☹️. The dot on the balance rim is reliable only with untouched units, but who knows? Changed staff or removed/mounted roller makes this dot worthless. Frank
    • I would clean it up. Cut a little slot where it goes into the piece that has the square and solder a small brass plate to to hold the two parts together. Yes you are right it is a German Strike and it has inside count wheel strike, should be 8 day duration. People break hand off because they move the hand by the tips or ends always move from the center.
    • I think your only option looking where it's broken is to get another hand that can be cut and then solder/braze the old one on top.
    • Hello all, my latest project is a Uhrenfabrik Villingen Maurer Pfaff & Maier clock (pics attached) the face is marked DRP No 94099 which I think is a German patent number issued in 1897. I have the clock running and striking perfectly, but this morning disaster struck whilst setting the time - the minute hand snapped. I suspect this is due to a previous repair having failed as I can see what looks like a small brass tab on the reverse (see pics) I have tried soldering the 2 pieces back together but this obviously isn't going to be strong enough. Any suggestions about the correct way to effect a lasting repair would be greatly appreciated.
