I was having a similar problem last week, i switched from hss to using pieces of carbide for cutting and managed to get small swirls coming off some 0.3mm cousins blue steel cutting down to well under 0.1mm before the end broke off. Feels like x40 magnification isn't enough when trying to cut staff pivot dimensions. -
So, I just uploaded some more disassembly pictures to my OneDrive (link in a previous post of mine). The abrasive paste made up of oil and brass particles is everywhere. I took a close-up of one of the pallet stones using my phone through the stereo microscope and considered it a near miracle that the watch was running at all, and not even badly at that. I guess it goes to show how well-made these Rolex movements are!? Anyway, that's it for now as I'm leaving my workbench for over six weeks of vacation. I'm going to miss it 😢 Let me know if you spot something abnormal or see something requiring closer inspection. The pictures are in HD so you can zoom in quite a bit. Oh, @Jon, no hurry with the video you mentioned you would record riveting the rotor axle, but I look forward to it! Cheers!

I have two of these mens Pulsar watches. One is running, but the other needs a new movement. I have tried to find another one and I am not having any luck. I have gathered the movement is Y100A. Maybe it is discontinued? Also, the crystals have minor scratches on them. Is there a way to buff these out? Thank you!
