I had trouble trying to make myself a Seiko DressKX with a NH36A movement.  The movement wasn't fitting into the case properly (not sitting flat onto the chapter ring) and then the stem snapped.  I had to take the movement partially apart to get the broken stem out.  When reassembling the movement I noticed that I had two of the same part (Day-date corrector setting transmission wheel E).  They looked identical under the microscope.  I checked the Seiko tech guide and watched a few servicing videos and only ever saw one of those parts.  Couldn't find any unused posts in the movement.  So, I left the mystery part out.  Manual winding, auto winding, quick sets, time setting, and time keeping all work.  With the movement back together it fit just fine into the case.  Am I blind not to see where the part goes?  Could the part have been an extra that was sitting loose in the movement (I certainly don't recall one)?  Anyone hear of that happening with a Seiko?  Seems unlikely, but maybe a loose part was the reason for the movement not sitting down fully into the case.

The watch looks great.  Sadly, I cannot wear it until I get a new stem.
