Hiya watch people , does anyone know what this crystal lift is about please.  There are 7 sizes and a couple of steel adapter inserts for this set, but the top holder is a lift out tray with another 8 spaces for more sizes.

Hi @Neverenoughwatches I have one like that myself but never used on anger. The dies fit over the crystal and compress it from the sides I believe. Did you get no instructions at all.

Hey WW hope you're getting better me old mate, so there are instructions in the lid of the box though i haven’t actually read them yet, but I'm sure they operate in the way you say, similar in principle to the claw crystal compression tools, Omega also do some very similar that draw a cut steel ring into a tapered sleeve ( would love to get my hands on that set but very expensive with that Omega tag ) .  My main reason for enquiry is regarding the sizes and if anyone has a bigger set as mine has room for 16 split dies in total and they also had available some steel split ring inserts to adapt each die to inbetween sizes. Very nifty well built tool actually.

Hi @Neverenoughwatches getting on ok , busy working on French clocks a5 the mo and a Viennese in the que with a barometer to come in plus a Russian ships clock giving me the willies, runs for days then has a bad hair day.   My set is like yours bottom tray empty so where they went who knows, it’s still in the drawer.   How’s you .

Good that you are busy, can't keep a good man down 👍,and the ship's clock sounds interesting and troublesome.  I think the bottom tray is if the repairer wants to add extra dies I have another set that i picked up for just a fiver, this has exactly the same seven dies but no lift out tray, strange. I wasn't too impressed with its gripping ability on a generic crystal, looks like I'll have to treat myself to a Tissot seastar seven to find out if these lifters actually work 😅. So i'm good thanks Iain and my mum is doing really well, still struggling with her speech but she's not letting it hold her back, shes out almost everyday and often on her own.

Thanks OH, its good to get a few folks view on tools. Looking at the tool the crystal would need a good high dome for it to grab.

Sorry for replying to this old thread - but in case you’re watching… I’ve been going down this rabbit hole with a Seastar seven that I’m trying to open. I’m getting the Bergeon claw tool and I’m interested to see you say that you can use it on the Seastar seven. Just to confirm was it successful at removing and replacing an armoured crystal?  Thanks.
