I just came into possession of an absurd amount of pocket watch hands of all sizes and types, and in various states of finish from raw stamped out of steel to complete and polished. One of the included tins contains a lot of seconds hands which are not yet attached to pipes so I am hoping I could learn that procedure and use a few of these for practice.

Can someone point me to any instructions for that task? If the answer is to go and read Fried or similar, I can do that. I have a decent and fairly complete staking set but I don't know if other tools are needed (something to grip the pipe maybe?)

Thanks as always

T&T&T YouTube channel has a couple of videos for making and fitting second hand tubes, maybe worth a look. He has lots of interesting watchmaking videos there.
