Trying to remove a Certina 738 / ETA 952.111 from the case of an Certina 738.1103.41, and need help. There is an edge inside the case holding the movement, so I can't figure out how to remove it from the back. Looks like it has been fitted from the front? Appreciate any help, thank you!

(Screws and winding stem are removed, I can rotate the movement 360ยฐ inside the case.)

Welcome to the forum, enjoy. This is new one for me but the the ring surrounding the movement might be a retaining ring. This could be very tight so care is required to avoid damaged to the movement. The other option might be to remove the ring surrounding and crystal, remove the hands and gently push to see if it achieves some movement.ย

Hm, but it looks and feels like it's a part of the case. It feels solid and doesn't move at all. If it is a ring, how would it be removed?ย

It could be tight but should just pull out.

Zooming in on your photos it does look like it's a ring with a small gap to the case.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!

Shouldn'tย  push on the movement, use the case to pry the ring out.

Attention, details of advice by clockboy.
