Hi folks,

I have just started learning about watch repair and bought a load of watches from Ebay, mostly quartz, but a few mechanical to learn with. Just trying to learn more about repairs and finding that sometimes the basics are not obvious even after watching videos on Youtube. Have a couple of Sekonda watches with a 1509b.1 movement in them and I cannot get the stems out. There is corrosion so I don't know if that is the issue, or I just don't know what screw to turn 🤪.

Have a microscope to learn with and have taken a couple of movements apart, though the reassembly might prove difficult as I lost the pallet fork on one and broke a jewel, and I suspect the escapement pinion. Oh the joys of learning.

Anyway, happy to find this forum and if anyone is around the Glasgow area, it would be good to learn from a more experienced horologist.

Thanks for the forum.
