Hi All.

I came here, like many of you I guess, after falling down a Youtube rabbit hole. From Marshal, to MyRetroWatches, then Mark's channel, and also Alex Hamilton's. I have a collection of pocket watches I've had since a child (lets just say, over 40 years ago), and recently decided to get one services. After sending it off, and realising I never really got around to working out how watches work, I started digging around.

After an (unsuccessful) service of one of the pocket watches I decided to move over to try working on some less important ebay bargains (the watch pocket watch that now requires more attention than it did when I started was a relatively uninteresting specimen which was otherwise working and didn't deserve what it got). I've picked up a few 1950's watches, 3 are DuRoWe 1172s, one of which I am gradually reassembling, and have also got a FHF ST96 based Fortis to restore, a few Seiko 6309s. Once comfortable I also have a Seiko 6139-6002 that needs work, and a couple of really lovely Landeron 149s. I also built myself a "GMT Master" from rip-off via ebay parts, and a Seiko NH34.

Watch wise, I like anything that has been to space (that isn't crazy prixced), and seem to have developed a taste for vintage chronos.

I have spent too much money on tools I didn't need, and quite a lot more on tools I do.

Other interests: Analogue photograph, painting (watercolour and gouache, mostly cartoons), I tech for a living.
