Apologies for not posting an intro but I can't get that part of the forum to work.

Does anyone know if a vintage collet (which I have - see photos) would fit into a new Bergeon 4854 Cannon Pinion Remover?

I understand that the 4854 is only good for pinions over 1.2mm but I happen to have a 6-sided collet from a vintage tool that's in really good condition and I was wondering about buying the new Bergeon and swapping the collets?

I have most of it but one part is missing, there should be a tube plus spring that sits above the collet and both go inside the tube (the bottom part in the photo) and the ball bearing sits on top of that. I'm pretty gutted as the rest of it's in great condition.

It looks like you have all the parts except the smaller spring beneath the ball bearing.

This spring is incredibly stiff, almost can't compress it. Maybe you can customize a spring yourself. The diameter and lenghth is about the same as the collet.

I've just ordered an overlength spring and I'll report back - hopefully with a smile.

Many thanks you all of you who have helped 👍
