Hope everyone's doing well!

I've got on my bench a Japanese Citizen Alarm ca. 1960 with what I believe is the Citizen 9810 movement inside. I absolutely love the look of this one, but it desperately needs a new balance staff and a proper cleaning. In order to do that, though, I need to figure out how the movement comes out of the case...

After removing the two case screws the movement now rotates freely inside the case. There is no separate movement ring as far as I can tell, and the case screws bite into a thick lip that's integral to the case proper. There is also a thin lip that prevent the dial from coming out through the front.

The last two photos show a seam that goes all the way around the case which might indicate that this is a detachable bezel, but I'm not 100 % sure. The lugs overlap the seam but don't seem to be joined to the dial-side "ring".

Any ideas? I'm happy to snap more pictures if I missed an angle.

Looks like a front loader

You're absolutely right! Some gentle and careful persuasion with a sharp blade released the bezel. It really wasn't on there all too snugly.

Thanks for the suggestion, it gave me the confidence to try 🙂
