Unfortunately I was recently servicing a Seiko Sea lion 8306a movement and one of the springs flew off and for the life of me I cannot find it. I have looked on eBay for a similar spring, I think it is the setting wheel lever spring (ref. 812840), but to no avail. Does anyone know of any other place I may find it, or any tips for searching cluttered rooms for small objects🙃?

Those springs are horrible. They have a round profile so they tend to slip under tension and fly away. I just serviced a Seiko 4502 and the springs have a flat profile which helps keeping them in place. That spring assortment might be a good option if you don't find a trashed donor movement.

Usually I would spend about an hour looking for it. Failing which, I would just bend a new spring from guitar wire. With a bit of practice, a spring like this can be made in a matter of minutes.
