Hey watch folk, good morning UK chaps. Installation of the big boy lathe has me wondering what best to feed it with, the watchmaker's I use Mobile Velocite 6.. seems thin for something much bigger. I get that the bearing tolerances will be similar....but heavier machining makes me think it needs a thicker oil šŸ¤”.

What lathe do you have?

Its a Boley and Leinen 3C , quite a big machine compared to a Geneva type watchmaker's lathe OH. Headstock and bed weighs about 50KG.

I'd say the Velocite 6 would do just fine. Your machine already has a larger bearing surface to cope with the heavier machining.

Thanks Case, it was worth me asking šŸ‘
