Hello everyone - I’m a new member to the forum.  I’ll complete my profile shortly, but will note that I’ve recently gotten into oversized vintage watches.

This question relates to a vintage Tissot Antimagetique, and am curious if anyone has encountered this issue - I wind the watch until I feel the resistance, but that point is not a full wind. I’ve found that in order to get a full wind,  I have to then pull out the pin and then push it back in (or give it a gentle shake), and then I’m able to continue winding until I get to a full wind. I’ve had the watch serviced, and no issues found that might explain this.

Has anyone seen or heard of this issue - having to pull/ push pin or shake mid-wind in order to get a full wind? Thank you

As this watch is from the 1930's, there's going to be a bit of wear and more than likely the wear in the keyless work is showing itself by not allowing you to wind to full wind without having to reset the clutch with the winding pinion. By what you are describing sounds like it might be worn keyless parts or worn winding pinion slot or a bit of both

Thanks everyone. To answer a few questions, the watch was serviced at a vintage watch specials here in DC. The balance wheel jumped out of place, but this mid-winding issue was happening before that. In servicing it, the entire movement was taken apart; nothing was identified as worn, but maybe I should seek a second opinion. I’ll note that this push/pull mid-wind seems to work, and the watch (it’s 46mm, by the way) is keeping time. I know vintage pieces can be quirky, but I’d like some comfort in knowing that I’m not creating more damage doing this. Thanks again
