Besides the mainspring, where else in watches and clocks would spring steel be used? If all the spring steel components in a watch were replaced with high-strength steel, would it cause a qualitative change in the watch? Considering today's technology, there are sufficient conditions to do so. I've discussed this matter with the technical staff on this website, and I'm curious if anyone would be willing to give it a try.www.zgtsteel.com

Welcome to the forum, enjoy.. Spring steel is used in clocks and watches in areas where a spring effect is required , mainsprings, lever springs to maintain tension. Etc.

Hello nameless 1st time poster,

is this a promotion for your mentioned link??

I am afraid, steel technology for use in watches is far beyond your imagination for many decades already.
