Hand placement problem!

CovveWould you believe it? Just as I was getting excited to complete the service on this little Roamer MST 372, I’m having a problem with the hands… The hour and minute seemed to be okay, but the second hand is very unstable has a mind of its own and merrily spins around or comes off. I’ve been very careful with the placement. Nothing is damaged as far as I can see , and when inserted by itself it’s  very stable  .and works perfectly in all dial positions without coming off.I’ve checked for dust or debris, distortion  and can find nothing amiss…i’d be grateful for any help with an inspection strategy to correct this. Just when we thought it was all over…!

If it works without the other hands in place, then one of the other hands or both can't be correctly seated and stopping the second hand from seating.

First thought would be the Minute hand isn't seated correctly
and preventing the second hand locating on the pinion.

Have you changed/replaced any parts?
