Hi everyone, I would like to thank you all for the advice and identifying a movement for an Ingersoll watch I repaired, runs great now.

I have another though, this is a Raymond Weil, it will be my second repair and is more complicated as it will need a new crystal aswell, so the question I have is can anyone identify the movement from the pics attached and how do I accurately measure for a new crystal?

Many thanks in advance

i cant measure the old one as it is no longer there, just looking to get an accurate measurement from the bracelet itself i suppose

Not sure what you mean about the bracelet but I've just realised you've not shown a photo of the Bezel & Lens.

Just looked at another 5568 and yours probably had a 0.6mm I-Ring with a 0.8mm Lens.

This would mean the I-Ring would be **.2mm or **.7mm with the lens being **.0mm or **.5mm.

The three photos I posted are exactly as the watch is at the moment, I'm not sure at all how to proceed with fitting a new lens/glass or even if it should be flat, domed or anything else, I should be able to change the movement like before on the Ingersoll but complete NG newbie to any thing else

Taken from an eBay listing you can see it's flat and looking at the front view there appears to be an I-Ring.

You need to measure the diameter where the lens sits and if possible the depth of the lip.

If you can't measure the lip then you may have to get and try the 0.8mm lens & 0.6mm I-Ring and see how they look.

There's a possibility it's glued but the diameter should help answer this.

As i said im new to all this, i measured the diameter and lip, they are 28.1 and 0.8 mm, do i need to go for a slightly larger one or will the gasket seal it? Thanks for your help so far.

also, im struggling with the measurements for the i gasket, i looked  on cousins for a 28.1mm gasket, however it comes up with 2 measurements such as the following;

28.2 x 27.5mm, Cousins I Gasket

Based on these dimensions and allowing for slight inaccuracies I think the easiest option
would be a 28.2mm x 0.6mm I-Ring and then the corresponding 27.5mm x 0.8mm Lens.

I've now got a large selection of lenses but when I started in cases like this I'd also
have bought a 28.0, 28.1 & 28.2 lens along with what's called G&S Hypo Cement.

Edit

I should have added that if it's an I-Ring you'll also need a Crystal Press and if it's glued
you'll need a steady hand and some pegwood to remove the excess before it sets.
