Some of the vintage Seitz jeweling tools have a 4mm hole in the base and 3mm stumps.  I have one set that has a converter bushing.  It plugs into the 4mm hole and has a 3mm hole for the 3mm stumps.

I recently acquired another set, however, this converter did not make the journey.

For the life of me, I cannot find on on ebay or anywhere else.  Maybe I am not using the right term in my search.

Any ideas?

As an alternative, I can turn one on my lathe if need be.

Seitz calls it a reducing ring in the catalogs I have available to me.  In the sets I have I can put the ring in the 4mm base and use the 3mm parts from the older sets in it. Not sure if there’s other uses or not though  I’m still slowly getting interested in restoring those and still learning as much as possible

Nice ! I’ve always wanted a mini lathe and milling machine , not specifically for watch work but just to play around with. If I ever get one I’m going to try and recreate things like this also. Looks fantastic !

Well, I am having so much fun with the Sherline, I am not working on watches...need to fix that when the new wears off.

It’s the side projects that get you, the “oh, I’ll need to make that first so I can make this” every time. If you can keep them down to 3 or better for every real project you’ll be doing well. 🤪😂

I did turn one on my lathe, incidentally.

I actually need the the opposite. I have a 3mm base for the anvils but I need a converter to accept 4 mm anvils so I can use the Incabloc set. Does anybody know where I can get one, or where I can get one made? I really don’t want to buy a used 4mm base or a Horia clone.

The only thing that can convert a smaller hole to a larger one is a cutting tool (like a drill), and the change is permanent.
