I was trying to make a list of Christmas gift ideas for my wife to shop and I thought about a lab coat and wanted to see if people actually wear them.  If it would help me catch and spot a launched part then it could be worth it.  I have had small parts ping off the tweezers never to be found again, even with a magnetic floor sweep, so for all I know they stuck to my clothing and came off in the wash.  Prices range from $20 to $200.  Not sure I'd want something stiff like a doctor's coat but somewhat comfortable.   Also, I recall seeing some for watchmakers that claim to be an anti-static material.  I think in a perfect world you'd want the part to always stick to the coat, but not dust and hairs

I have a couple that I wear. I have a cheap one I got on amazon, and a much nicer one my wife ordered me with my business name and my name on it. The cheap one works well enough, but the buttons on it are snap buttons, and they come unsnapped if you get out of your chair often. Maybe my belly is just too big. The nicer one has actual buttons, and its a bit thicker. I prefer that one. But its good to have 2 for when 1 is in the wash. And yes, it does help you see parts that ping off your tweezers. But that happens less and less as the days go on.

Why not try watchmaking naked, just make sure your workshop is well heated and keep away from the windows. 🤣

No. Too many cracks and crevices for parts to hide in. 🤣
