I have parts coming to finish off my Omega Seamaster 300 build, using a Cal.565

The 1 item I am not able to source is the Black date disc with white text. So I think I am going to embark on the journey of finding old and battered disks and using my contacts to remove the old finish and have them printed with in black and white.

These will obviously not be exact reproductions with regards to process, but the aim will be to have them indistinguisable from the originals and ideally a little more hardy as the plan will be to UV print them.

My main barrier will be economies of scale, as even rough date disks are not cheap ($50 AUD I think would be the mimimum) and whilst thats not a hug barrier, the main issues for me right now are:

1. Getting a sufficiently decent one to perfectly replicate the artwork

2. Designing the print template were the disk can be aligned with sufficient precision to ensure perfect alignment in the date window

3. Hopefully trying to get my hands on enough date disks to make it economical. However even if I pay a fortune to do 1 or 2, that will be my path. Its just nice to be able to do a small run to amortise the cost of the setup and print a bit.

4. Understanding the ideal process to prepare the disks for print (I assume acetone will probably be all that is needed to prep the brass)?

This is all relatively proven territory for me as I have done this for a few of my audio projects already. However this clearly is down to a scale that I have not done before.

My aim is to do this all ont he flat disks, not the curved.
