I restored a Bergeon 5700 by removing the rust using combination of electrolysis and wd40 rust remover. Ā I was able to polish it after.

However, after a few months, it started rusting again so I had to remove the rust again.

I did apply rust preventing sprays like the CRC but here it is again rusting.

Any tips on how I can prevent it from rusting again?Ā

It might also be worth trying renaissance wax, it’s a micro crystalline wax designed to conserve amongst other things metal objects in a museum. I’ve found it useful for old tools that I have de rusted and polished.

What environment is it in?Ā  Is there a lot of humidity there?Ā  As I've recently started collecting decent tools for this hobby, which is in my garage, I decided to add a mini-split A/C in the summer.Ā  In Georgia (USA) the summers are hot and very humid so we'll see next summer.

If this happens, I would also worry about other tools and watch parts 😧 getting corroded. A simple dehumidifier might help. They are cheap and easy to install. Just a matter of plugging it in.
