Edit

Just refreshed my memory on this and although there's information
showing the 148 & 189 have the same spring I don't think it's correct.

It appears the 189 can derive from 2 different based calibres.

So I received the part. Looks great. Installed. Tested chrono function.. so far so good. Cased movement.. but the pusher tab (the part that the pusher pushes against) is just a few fractions of a millimeter shorter than the original so that the pusher just misses it 😒 The spring is riveted to this piece. I guess I’ll need to dig it out and try to remove the broken riveted spring and re-rivet the new spring. Anyone have a good tutorial on how the rivet small watch parts?

Can you post the eBay link where you got his from.

Edit

Are you sure it's a part problem and not a pusher problem?

Can you post a photo.

Yeah its definitely just a tiny bit too short. The other pusher functions as normal. The pusher actually touches the tab but just barely and slips along the edge. I’ve got it back out of the case now. You can see on this picture where is just ever so slightly shorter than the original part. Not the best angle but notice the shadows too.

I'd be tempted to try to adjust its geometry (i.e. bend it).

I ended up just switching the spring off the new part and placing it on the old start/stop plate. That little rivet is more like a press fit post. Came out easy with a staking set and then just pressed the old post back in with the new spring. Seems pretty secure. Here’s a pic with the spare post.
