I need to replace the hands on a pocket watch. I have measured the hour wheel, cannon pinion and the pivot the seconds hand fits on to as follows:

Hour: 1.99mm
Min: 1.11mm
Sec: 0.27mm

Im not sure what diameter of replacement to choose as the hands on Cousinsuk don’t match exactly to my measurements (naturally there will be some tolerance in the accuracy of my measurements I guess).

For the hour hand for example I can get 2mm hands, but should I be going for the exact size or is it better to get the hands slightly smaller than the measured diameter. If so how much?

These are the hands I have been looking at:

How accurate do you think your measurements are?

For the Hour you should be OK with the 2mm.

For the Minute you could go for the 1mm are reamer it out as long as there's
enough body or the 1.15mm with the intention of closing the hole slightly.

That's all presuming they're long enough?

Should be good as I have a decent set of Mitutoyo digital callipers.

I guess I might get both and experiment a bit. If I needed to close up the hole is this something to attempt with tweezers?

No, depending how long the tube is you'd need either a staking set or even just a tube to deform the metal in.

Edit

Depending on the 1mm hand it may be better to broach it out to 1.1mm then reamer if necessary.
