Steam removal help

Hey I'm working on my first disasambley and have made a mistake I turned the setting lever screw to much and now I'm trying to get to the hands bur I'm not sure how please help.

Is the movement still in the case? Can you identify it? Post some photos if you can.

From your description, I understand you are not able to remove the stem, is that right?

You loosened the setting lever screw too much and the setting lever fell off behind the dial? So you can not align the hands for removal?

From the OPs original post the setting lever has fallen off and now they're looking how to remove the movement from the case.

That is correct its stuck in the case because I can not remove the stem I have removed everything I could with it in the case and have got to the keyless works. I'm not sure what to do now with the stem stuck. The movement is sussex 210A578 I can't find much about it online.

Sorry i thought you'd already removed the stem.

What screw have you removed that you think is for the setting lever as if it is then the stem should be loose.

It looks like the movement is a front loader so can you see if the bezel can be removed?

Can you also show where you've got the movement number from.

I got the movement number from the balance wheel bridge. It didn't look like it had a removable bezel I will have to get one of those crystal pullers.

Have you tried to loosen the setting lever screw just two turns and pushing the screw down?

it looks like the set lever screw is missing to me, I think the crown is stuck to the case tube or the clutch wheel is stuck on the stem square.....can you move the clutch wheel freely as it sit now?

It could be that the movement, with the dial and hands still attached, comes out through the front of the case - a so-called front loader. If so, you will need to remove the crystal, or crystal and bezel assembly. It's hard to see in your photos, but I suspect the bezel is a separate piece to the main case. We'll deal with it later. The next step is to get the stem out.

You can pull the stem to the setting position, but no further. Is that correct? If so, the setting lever can't have gone far. Put the screw back in, and push down on it as you pull firmly on the crown.

So with the correct movement number Z1D A578, it is a front loader, be it with the bezel removed or just the crystal.

As @Klassiker said you need to refit the screw and push the lever away.

Failing that you'll have to remove the hands and dial to see what's happening from the front.
