Hi everyone, I just inherited my father’s Tag Heuer watch that I believe to be model 1000.  I want to keep it and wear it in his honor.

I am trying to restore and replace the battery on it but cannot find information on how to remove the battery cover.   Any help would be greatly appreciated!    Ty!!

Hello and welcome from Leeds, England.  Have you got a question about the watch?

How do I remove the battery cover ?

Here's a photo of the movement without the cover, it looks like it just has a lug under the highlighted area.  Try gently pushing towards the battery.  Be careful because I  don't know for sure, hopefully someone will give you a definite reply soon.

The old battery was Renate 344.  I got one from Amazon and installed it but the watch still isn’t running.

Any advice on how to remove the stem?

Is there a reason you want to remove the stem?

Look where the little arrow is pointing and you should see a dimple to press with either the crown in or out.
