MK’s are made by Fossil whose manufacturing plants are in China. They seem to be responsible for a lot of various fashion watches that they make for a lot of big brands. They do own the Zodiac watch company of Switzerland which they bought to give themselves an air of “Swiss watch maker”.

I have had my hands on a few MK fashion watches, some use Miyota and some Hattori but the prices are for the name and flash dial. Only the likes of us who peer inside see the real truth. Vastly over priced.

That's not a bad price even with delivery but AliExpress don't appear to have any Date@6 versions.

yes, weird!  They are there, but it takes some digging

Worst case scenario, if you can't get a date @6 version, you can transfer the old date wheel over, making it a date @6 version.

wahoo!  Success - well, maybe  87% success.   Replaced lens, swapped out the quartz JS25 movement and swapped the 3 o'clock date wheel for a 6 o'clock.  The 3 little hands went on easier than the seconds hand:  I used a hand tool with a hole too large, and the seconds hand folded up inside it

Ordered a new bracelet as the yellow is REALLY faded, but it wouldn't fit the existing curved ends, nor take the original MK clasp, but I'm not worried about that so much.  

Total outgoings £20, I don't care if I sell it for £16

great, looks like I was trying to sell it too cheap, it was flagged as a fake by Facebook Marketplace
