Hello, new to the forum. Just bought a vintage Timex for 10 euros including shipping. I just took it apart to clean it, the crystal was cracked and a piece broke. From my measurements, the crystal is a domed 33mm. I also noticed it didn't have a gasket, maybe acrylics don't come with one or is it just missing? I've read other posts on these forums saying the crystal is 30.8, maybe i'm not measuring correctly or is mine just bigger? Also what size gasket if any?

Thank you!

Acrylic glasses do not need gaskets.

Measure the diameter in the case and add 0.2mm to 0.5mm to get the crystal size you need.

It looks like the case measures about 32.7mm and the crystal 33.0mm - which is OK. Just get a 33.0mm acrylic crystal. Probably low dome  e.g. https://www.cousinsuk.com/category/acrylic-round

It's worth buying digital calipers for improved accuracy - they're surprisingly cheap about £10

Very nice dial and hands!

Showed this piece some tender love and care. Bought it for 10$ off my local classifieds. Cleaned the date wheel from oil, cleaned the hands (unfortunately probably the previous owner messed with them and they were slightly bent, still didn't straightened them properly, maybe someone has a tip on how to do that in the future), cleaned the case and gave it a new acrylic crystal (unfortunately it came a bit scratched on the inside from aliexpress, but hardly noticeable). Now I'm looking to buy a strap as my 18mm ones don't fit, apparently the distance between the lugs is 17.6mm and I tried to squeeze it there, but just didn't fit, the springbar is also too big.

Give me some suggestions on what kind of strap to go for? I was thinking a dark blue or brown silicone? Don't really see this as a dressier watch to go for leather. I also saw a milanese that comes in 17mm width. Thanks!
