Hi All,

Im just starting my journey in watch repair. I purchased a cheap ST3620 from china to practice disassembling and building the movement. However I cant complete the disassembly as I can unscrew the setting lever screw. I can only move the screw a tiny bit each way. Ive tried youtube but cant find a solution. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

Photo are always best when you've got any problems but have you removed the bridge before removing the setting lever screw as it's trapped with a collar.

Thanks Andy, will certainly post pics in future. Yes Ive removed everything bar the setting lever screw (and the parts i cant remove until I remove this screw).

So reattach the bridge and I should be ok?

There's nothing you can't remove with this screw in place apart from the setting lever itself.

You would usually loosen the set screws first, to remove the stem.

Yes ive not removed the stem..thats what im having trouble with now. Will attempt to put bridge back and see if I can loosen setting screw

Before you do anything can you post photos of what you're trying to do as the bridge won't
make any difference, in fact, it's the only way you can completely remove the screw.

Yes, my first time ever taking a movement apart. Bought this new as far as I aware. The vids on youtube show it very easy to remove this screw but i can at all. It may be the screw drivers I have dont fit right as seems the grip is poor. I have a few new ones arriving this week so maybe Ill get lucky!

Yes you need the correct sized screwdriver with a correctly dressed tip but I expect this goes beyond that as it shouldn't be so difficult on a new movement.

What's the setting lever doing while you're trying to unscrew it?

Also thanks for all the replies. New to this and watching youtube videos is fine but when stuck on something its hard to figure it out from vids!
