Vintage GUB - Glashütte - Cal 613

This is a GUB Präzise (or Urofa) Glashütte from the late '40s or early '50s. The watch runs beautifully and keeps time remarkably well, especially considering its age.

I performed a bit of restoration on the case, aiming to preserve as much of its original character as possible. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the watch on the timegrapher after the service, but I do have a photo from before the service that gives a good indication of how well it runs for a vintage movement.

In addition to servicing the movement, I had to change the minute hand which looked like more of a dyi hand than an original one, I cleaned the hands and applied a new lume to both the hands and the dial. The lume color didn’t turn out quite as I hoped, but I actually like the result. 

P.S: I actually mix the lume powder with colored pencil pigment.

Here is the photo from the timegrapher. I suppose I could regulate it even better now since it’s a week or so since I serviced it and have worn it almost daily now, but even so, I think it’s perfect !
