Any techniques for stabilizing old crumbling lume? Quick search didn't turn up much. I'd like to maintain the lume on the minutes hand of this 62MAS and not worry that knocking it about will cause the lume to detach from the hand. I have a lume kit that includes agent separate from the lume powder. Does anyone have experience with something like this... I was thinking I could carefully add a small amount of agent on the backside of the hand and hopefully the lume would sort of wick it up and set nice and strong. Wishful thinking? The alternative would be a relume... anyone have a source for that lovely seiko minty green lume? Something non-luminescent to match the rest...

No experience but I have seen clear nail varnish recommended. I would think that Matt acrylic clear coat could also be an option. Worth an experiment if you have some old hands kicking about that don’t matter.

Yes, clear varnish tends to be the go to but if the goal is maintaining the exact look you have a caution-  I have a couple DD watches where it is obvious previous preservationists have done this and it looks a bit the bodge…
