Hi, I have a Tag WK111A-0 GZ3952. It was left in storage for several years and the battery corroded. The board has been replaced and the digital element of the watch now works but the hands do not move. I have been told it needs need capacitors.

Can anyone point me in the direction of either buying new capacitors to be fitted or someone that can supply and fit for me.

Thanks

Sounds like corrosion has spread to mechanical elements of your watch or has ruined an electrical part.

Picture only helps to identify the movement, I trust its the caliber Jon said.

I believe ETA 988.432.pdf is the movement inside your watch.

It takes a battery, so doesn't store energy in a capacitor like a solar watch movement. Who told you it needed a capacitor?

Thanks @Jon I had a friend who fixes watches ( mainly old Seiko's ) as a hobby replace the board for me. I purchased that as new via the internet, replaced the battery etc with good quality ones. Before the board was replaced nothing worked, now if you spin the button on the side the digital works and displays various options, stop watch works etc. If you spin the button so there are no digital numbers shown and then press it in the watch starts to beep ?

It was my friend who fitted the new board and battery who said it needs new capacitors.

It would be nice to get it back working as its a memory thing more than anything as my Wife bought it for me about 20 odd years ago.

I'm afraid i have no experience in opening up watches to get any extra info.
