Hi, I'm new here so please forgive my ignorance. I've just inherited two Tissot watches: a D130/230C and D130/230K. I don't know if they are operational but the first step is to replace the battery of each. There are four screws on the back of the rectangular watch, which I have removed. The challenge now is to remove the back itself. I've taken off the watch band but I can't see any protrusions from the back that would allow its removal. Is there a special tool involved? Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Once the screws are removed the back should just lift off but I expect the gasket has turned to glue and that's what's holding it in place.

You'll need to try and lever it from the top between the lugs but take it slowly and don't push anything too far in.

As said the case back is kinda glued to the rubber gasket, it is made of  thin metal and easily deforms.  So slide a safety razor blade under it to cut the rubber gasket  all around back plate's  premeter. Don't  push the blade far in.

Unfortunately this isn't possible as the back is recessed on the 2 sides and the circuit board is also very close to the gasket.

I see  !!         its recessed.

Going by the pic Andy posted, each side bracelet fits , is machined flush level with the gasket, so I pry there with a safety razor.

Remove the bracelet,  insert razor blade.
