I want to run this by some of the wonderful experts here before I get too wild.

Picked this up in a watch lot locally - cheap enough to qualify for 404 club eligibility. After some digging I believe it's a Dateline A-279.

It doesn't run, I'll be digging into it this weekend.

The only issue I see is the dial. I can't find any examples of the A279 with indices like these.

Any info at all regarding the watch, it's worth or Neal W Jones is greatly appreciated!Screenshot_20250411_142158_Gallery.thumb.jpg.b1c48c0236f0b0cbab896aa6388fd802.jpg20250410_191438.thumb.jpg.02e0c7eefe999c316c51a3f50c6f5698.jpg20250410_191418.thumb.jpg.da24275a35fd3644fa71f87e3d0e4f3d.jpg20250410_191403.thumb.jpg.50e993dc66607a14edbb5d1b40e7ae7e.jpg20250410_191342.thumb.jpg.62eefa7fbecb1d2c351efda4d19a801f.jpg

Good find.

This movement  is a Swiss ETA 2472 selfwinder, which  Hamilton has rebranded with it's own calib designation.

Go on to Dr ranfft  site to see all variants of the family this calib belongs to. Though there probably is a walkthrough on same or its variants calibers posted on WRT, yet for ready reference  take lots of pictures as you disassemble.
