I grew up in a jewelry store. My father was a watchmaker. Starting around the age of 12, I started learning to repair clocks. After a very long break in the work, I am setting up my shop again. Dad passed away a few years ago but I kept all of his tools and shop equipment. Looking forward to doing this work again. I'm trained as a machinist and have been working in an industrial environment for the last 30 years. Time for a change and getting back to my roots and doing work I truly love.

It sounds like you have a great background and foundation for following your dad's footsteps. I'm thinking that he'd be thrilled that you kept his tools, etc., as it probably took him many years to assemble them. Good luck. Cheers.

Greetings!

You are so lucky to have had that early experience,  and the foresight to hang on to your Dad's tools! And hey, it's all metal, just a matter of scale
