This Landeron 248 movement, housed in a Swiss Emperor watch, was over lubricated and had some other issues.After stripping and cleaning I had to make a spring for the flyback operating lever. Notice the excess oil in the photo's.

I do like these watches Mark, I've worked on a couple of 48's but not a 248. It all seems to be in great nick including the dial, you'll have made somebody a happy bunny!

I think I might well be that happy bunny - it looks very like the one that Mark did for me, including the trailing flyback hand!

No flyback hand - one of the push buttons on the side of the watch will cause the chronograph hands to 'fly back'. The flyback lever is activated with the push button. But the lever has to return back to it's original position once it has been depressed and this is where the spring comes in.

Looks like someone dipped the movement in oil for good measure :-).
