Hi all

After years of using traditional oilers, I recently decided to bite the bullet and invest in a set of automatic oilers in the name of efficiency.

I am familiar with the use of the oilers 1A and 5, respectively for shock protected jewels, and train wheel pivots.

My query is specifically about the oiler ref 2A - « For pallets, mechanical parts, oiling spots difficult to reach »

Basically my question is, does it work with grease? At the moment I am thinking of using it to lubricate keyless work and high friction points with grease,  but I would not want to fill up the reservoir to find out it is just too thick to work....

any advice/ experience would be appreciated!

Many thanks

Oli

I would say no. Personally I find using the auto oiler awkward and therefore only use them for shock jewels that can not be removed easily.

Thank you clockboy, that is my gut feel too. I do not see much point in the 2A if it can only be used with thin oils. Perhaps I will end up using it with Moebius 914 for pallet / escape lubrication on low beat escapement lubrication.

Hi Frank, many thanks for this, I have not come across it before. Would you have a Bergeon ref number by any chance?
